Damien and Yilpi Marks Jangala and Atira

Haast Bluff and Ernabella, NT and SA,
Damien Marks Tjangala and Yipi Marks Atira are a talented duo. Damien (both in 1967) from the remote Haasts Bluff community Ikuntji in the Northern Territory (West of Alice Springs). Yilpi was born in 1969 and is from the remote community Pukatja community in South Australia. Both artists come from highly regarding artistic backgrounds. Damien has painted alongside some of the greats included Clifford Possum and Billy Stockman.

Yilpi was taught the dreamtime stories by her grandparents and her parents. Her mother Tjulkiwa Atira-Atira and her father Nyukana Baker (deceased), both very talented artists, have artworks held by the State Gallery of South Australia.
