Utopia,
Janet Golder Kngwarreye, an Anmatyerre artist hailing from Mulga Bore on the Utopia Homelands, inherits a rich artistic lineage within her family. Renowned Utopia artists Polly Ngale and Angelina Pwerle stand as her esteemed grandmothers, while her uncle, Greeny Purvis, and accomplished sister, Belinda Golder Kngwarreye, contribute to the family's artistic legacy.

Initiating her artistic journey in 1987, Janet immersed herself in the tutelage of family members, focusing on subjects deeply embedded in the cultural narratives of the women artists in her family group. Her artistic repertoire encompasses the Awelye Women's Ceremonial Body Paint, Bush Yam Leaf designs and stories, as well as Bush Medicine and Mountain Devil Dreaming. Recently, Janet has expanded her narrative horizons to include stories centred around women's cultural practices on Country, interweaving imagery of bush tucker with features of the Utopia landscape.

Janet Golder Kngwarreye exhibits a remarkable mastery of colour, skilfully blending black and white design with vibrant elements. Her artwork has graced galleries across Australia and internationally, showcasing the depth and diversity of her artistic expression.
