Jennifer Forbes

Born in October 1958, Jennifer Forbes hails from Pukatja, formerly known as Ernabella, in South Australia. Her ancestral roots extend to the Ngaanyatjarra lands, situated between the Western Desert and the Great Victoria Desert. Within this expanse lies the Papulankutja Aboriginal community, her cherished home nestled in the Blackstone ranges.

Jennifer Forbes made the decision to relocate to Alice Springs for health reasons. Despite the change in location, she has steadfastly continued to weave her Dreaming stories onto canvas. This artistic expression serves as a poignant tether, connecting her to the sacred landscape, tight-knit community, and rich cultural heritage. For Jennifer, the act of depicting art is not only an enjoyable pastime but also carries profound cultural significance.
