Natalie Clark (Jackson)

Undalup (Busselton), WA,
Natalie Clark (Jackson) was born in the coastal town of Undalup (Busselton), located in the South West of Western Australia. She is from the Wardandi and Bibbulman Noongar Nation on her mother’s side, and the Ballardong Noongar Nation on her father’s side.

Her totem spirit animal is the Blue-tongue Lizard, known in the Wardandi dialect as Yoorn, and her artist name, Djarliny, translates from Noongar to English as “flame”.

Natalie is a self-taught artist who uses painting as a medium for healing, expression, and connection to Country and self. The canvas is her sanctuary — a space where emotions flow freely, and her palette reflects her own essence. Colours are chosen not only for their aesthetic appeal, but for their ability to convey feeling, memory, and deep connections to people, place, and land.

At the core of Natalie’s work is an exploration of identity, both personal and cultural. Through vibrant colour and expressive form, she examines what it means to be a Noongar person in contemporary society. Her artwork celebrates cultural heritage and personal growth, reflecting the many layers that shape who we are.

Painting fuels her ability to challenge personal limits, to discover, innovate, and navigate complex experiences while seeking solace through overcoming them. Through art, Natalie releases her voice, broadens her horizons, and unravels both inner and external mysteries. Painting has given her a powerful tool — using colour to process emotion and explore connection.

By presenting complex emotional landscapes, Natalie aims to encourage viewers to engage with the world from a more empathetic perspective. She hopes her art acts as a mirror, reflecting the multifaceted nature of human experience. With a strong focus on identity, spirituality, perception, and connection, her work moves beyond personal narrative to engage with broader societal themes, inviting reflection and dialogue and reinforcing her belief in art as a catalyst for healing and understanding.

Natalie remains committed to fostering community connection and celebrating the diverse tapestry of human experience. She has been creating bespoke artworks cherished by private collectors for over a decade.

Her artworks have been sold in Australia, Denmark, France, Singapore, Ireland, Germany, Greece, England, America, Finland, Canada, Hanoi, New Zealand, and Switzerland.
