Balgo,
Veronica Daniels is a talented artist from Yuendumu, with strong ties to both her birthplace and Balgo. She is the daughter of the renowned Warlpiri artist and senior Law woman Sarah (Manaya) Daniels, inheriting a deep cultural knowledge and artistic tradition.Veronica's work often reflects her mother's Country, Mina Mina, as well as her father's Country around Yuendumu.
Her paintings celebrate the abundance of mangarri (bush tucker), featuring kumpupatja (bush tomato), ngaarlukutu (bush coconut), and tjirrilpatja (bush carrots). Tjurnu (waterholes) and the Rainbow Serpent also hold a significant place in her art, weaving stories of survival, sustenance, and spiritual connection to Country.
A mother of three, grandmother of four, and with a growing number of great-grandchildren, Veronica's art not only preserves her cultural heritage but also shares it with future generations. Through her vibrant use of colour and storytelling, she continues to strengthen the legacy of Warlayirti Artists and the profound cultural traditions of her ancestors.
