Dulcie’s paintings depict the Bush Yam leaf scared dreaming stories from her family’s country. This soft flowing painting depicts the flowers of a pencil yam called Atnwelarr; a native trailing herb, (& nutritious food). It covers large areas of the ground after significant rain bringing the bush to life with its bright yellow flowers.
Dulcie was born 1979 at Mosquito Bore. She is the daughter of well-known artist Jeannie Petyarre, who’s work is in the collection of the National Gallery of Australia.
