Pencil Yam is an important bush tucker food for Aboriginal people as well as a significant dreaming story which is celebrated in their Awelye ceremonies. Dulcies rhythmic strokes and vibrant colours paints this story with the hope that the spirit of the plants continue. Dulcie was born in 1979 at Boundary Bore Outstation in the Utopia region of the Northern Territory. She is an Anmatyerre woman and a member of one of the most renowned painting families in Australia.
