Gracie’s art speaks of the land where her father’s spirit resides, near Paruku (Lake Gregory) and the community of Mulan. It is a place of deep meaning, where the waters hold the stories of creation and life itself. These water sites are sacred, ed to her father’s Tjukurrpa (Dreaming), a living, breathing force that flows through the very heart of the country.

The sacred waters of Pankulpi, Kgitji, Kgiliwa, and Lira are interconnected, their streams running like veins through the land, carrying the lifeblood of this ancient country. Around these waterholes, the earth flourishes with an abundance of bush foods, flowers, and seeds — a vibrant tapestry of life that sustains both the body and the spirit.

Through her paintings, Gracie honors the land and its precious gis, weaving the stories of these waterholes into her art. She captures the deep, interconnected rhythms of the land — the way the streams weave together, the rich array of bush foods that bloom at their edges, and the sacredness that runs through every leaf, seed, and flower.
