Moodjar tree – Moodjar is the Noongar name for the tree of souls or WA Christmas tree. Botanical name is Nutsia Florabunda.
On Noongar country, The Moodjar tree has masses of vivid bright orange blooms are seen over the season of Birak (December/January).
The Moodjar is a sacred and powerful tree that symbolises spirits of our ancestors. They are a living memorial of those that have passed on.
