The Sun is the giver of life. It is represented by the yellow circle on the Aboriginal Flag. Yellow is the colour of ochre that is collected and used for art and body paint for important ceremonies. Country is not just land; it is everything, land, water, sky, plants, animals, and people. It is more than physical, it is spiritual, cultural and our ancestral connection we have with Country. Country is like being at home, where we belong and have a strong and respectful relationship. For thousands of years, Country has sustained Aboriginal people by providing everything necessary for survival, caring for and respecting Country is a responsibility handed down through generations.
