In this painting, Inggarda artist Sonya Edney paints her country in the Gascoyne region as Spring transforms the landscape. Spring rains have filled the creeks, which are running, and the rockholes, and there is a proliferation of different coloured wildflowers spreading across the red earth.
Sonya Edney is an Ingarrda-Wadjarri artist born in Carnarvon in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia in 1974. Sonya started painting at Burringurrah community, located between the towns of Meekatharra and Carnarvon.
