Wanna Munna is a large gorge and Aboriginal cultural site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is where the two of my language groups, Banyjima and Nyiyaparli physically meet.

Throughout history, Wanna Munna was a place of ceremonies, initiation, lore, rituals, trading, learning, dance and celebration. These traditions are passed down through generations. Wanna Munna has a diverse range of ancient rock art. Images of ancestral beings, animals, birds, boomerangs, patterns and animal tracks are carved into the stone, making it a spectacular exhibition within the gorge.

Wanna Munna stands as a living connection to the ancestral spirits and traditions that have shaped the land.
