As Djilba arrives across Noongar Boodja, the winter rains begin to soften the earth and Country awakens. Beneath the warming sun, tiny shoots emerge and wildflowers begin to open, bringing colour back to the landscape.

One by one, the flowers spread across Boodja, pink, purple, yellow and white, weaving together like threads in a beautiful blanket. The winding pathways in the artwork represent the flow of life across Country, connecting the flowers, plants, waterways, animals and people.

The flowers of Djilba are a gift from Country. They provide food and shelter for insects, birds and other creatures, while their colours bring joy to everyone who walks upon the land.

As more flowers bloom, Djilba gently lays her floral blanket over Boodja, reminding people that Country is alive, generous and always renewing itself.
