Megan Corby
Bunbury, WA,
Megan Corby (Henry) is a self-taught Noongar artist from Bunbury, Western Australia. She grew up on Wadandi Boodja, an experience that continues to shape her connection to Country and inform her creative practice. Megan has been practising as an artist for the past two years and has previously worked within Indigenous arts through the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries. Her work is contemporary in style, often exploring themes of harmony, peace, and emotional connection. Inspired by the colours of the South West landscape and coastline, her palette reflects the natural beauty of Country. Through travel across Australia, Megan has developed a deep appreciation for place, with certain locations holding personal significance that she draws upon in her work. Much of her creative process begins in reflection — imagining stories and designs before bringing them to life on canvas.
Alongside her personal practice, Megan creates custom artworks in collaboration with clients, developing unique pieces that represent individual stories, journeys, and family connections.
Megan’s heritage is deeply rooted across Australia. Her mother is Murri, born in Brisbane and raised in Tweed Heads, while her father is Noongar, born in Wagin and raised throughout Noongar Country. Her family connections include the Davis, Henry, McGuire, Blair, Smith, and Curry families.
Her own young family is a strong source of inspiration, influencing both her creativity and the stories she chooses to tell through her work.
Although early in her career, Megan has already experienced meaningful opportunities within the arts and continues to build a strong and evolving practice for the future.
