This artwork tells a story of the strength and nurturing spirit of Noongar Boodja. The flowing pathways represent the journeys of grandmothers, mothers, daughters and aunties, whose footprints have always been woven across Country. Their knowledge, love and care continue to guide each new generation.

The rich pinks, reds and earthy ochres reflect the life carried within the land, from wildflowers blooming after the rain and the warmth of the sun, to the quiet places where families gather to share stories. The circles symbolise meeting places, camps and the unbreakable bonds between kin, while the delicate dot work represents seeds, bush foods and the many small moments of care that help communities grow strong.

Every winding line reminds us that healing is never walked alone. Like the roots beneath the earth and the waterways flowing across Noongar Country, all are connected. When people care for Country, Country cares for them, holding their stories, their ancestors and their future together.

This artwork celebrates the enduring strength of Noongar people and the deep connection between family, Country and the healing spirit that flows through them both.
