When the sun slips below the horizon, Boodja becomes quiet, but it is never still. Across Noongar Country, the colours of the day slowly disappear, and the darkness begins to reveal another world. The moon rises softly above the trees, while the stars scatter across the sky like tiny lights guiding the way.

Below them, the country breathes. The winding pathways in the earth hold the stories of those who have walked before. The waterways reflect the moonlight, carrying memories through the land, while flowers and grasses move gently in the night breeze.

In the darkness, little creatures begin to stir. Their movements become part of the rhythm of Country, a gentle dance between land, water, sky and living things. The glowing circles within this artwork represent places of connection and light, moments where Country reminds people that even in darkness, there is always something shining.

The flowers scattered across the landscape are reminders of the beauty that continues to grow, while the flowing lines represent the pathways that connect people to Boodja, family, memory and belonging.

And above it all is the night sky. The old sky watches over Country, connecting what is above with what is below. When people slow down and look into the darkness, they begin to see that night is not empty. It is full of life, stories and connection.
