During Bunuru, the hottest time of the Noongar Six Seasons, the sun shines brightly over Boodja and the warm winds move across the land and sea.
In this artwork, the deep blue water represents the ocean and waterways that provide life during the heat. Fish move together through the water, while the sweeping shapes show the movement of currents and the connection between sea and Country.
Along the shore, colourful wildflowers bloom among the darker bushland, bringing life and beauty to the landscape. Above, the warm pink and golden sky reflects the long summer days, while the birds travel across the sky, following the changing seasons.
