Kambarang is the season when Country comes alive with colour. As the days grow warmer and the sunlight stretches across the land, the bush begins to bloom, filling Noongar Country with bright flowers, sweet scents and the sounds of new life.

In this artwork, the flowing pathways represent the many connections across Country, linking waterways, bushland, people, animals and plants. The vibrant reds, purples, yellows and whites reflect the abundance of native flora that flourishes during Kambarang. The kangaroo paw reaches proudly from the bush, while banksia, flowering shrubs and delicate native blossoms bring colour to the landscape.

Each flower has its own place and purpose, providing food and shelter for birds, insects and other creatures. Kambarang reminds people that Country is always changing. After the cooler seasons, the warmth returns and new growth appears. It is a time to notice the flowers, listen to the birds and appreciate the renewal happening all around.
